BGMU provides at no cost to local teachers, classroom information on water, wastewater, and electricity. This informative material is primarily for elementary and middle school children. BGMU offers free classroom presentations on electrical safety aimed at 4th and 5th grade students. At the request of the classroom teacher, a representative will bring our tabletop display called ‘Voltage Village’ and demonstrate the importance of electrical safety inside and outside of the home. Voltage Village is a lively presentation using real electricity and neon characters to show hazards that can occur around power lines. It is our hope that by providing students with this presentation that they can better protect themselves and their families in situations that could be dangerous. Water treatment employees are also available to provide a presentation on the water purification process.
